For a long time, I have been aware of my abilities as a healer and have actively sought ways to assist people in their healing journeys. My professional background spans approximately 15 years in the field of mental health, where I held various roles and found great satisfaction in both learning and supporting others. However, life took an unexpected turn, leading me to pursue massage therapy.
My entry into the world of massage therapy was driven by a desire to help individuals alleviate or completely eradicate pain. Often, aches and pains stem from tightness in muscles and fascial tissues, known as musculoskeletal pain. This type of pain affects the bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. By utilizing different massage modalities and techniques, massage therapy can effectively reduce or eliminate musculoskeletal pain.
Among the massage modalities I frequently employ are myofascial release, deep tissue massage, and trigger point therapy. These modalities focus on releasing tension, tightness, and knots caused by factors such as injuries, stress, or excessive muscle use. Common conditions that can be addressed through massage therapy include temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, loss of flexibility or function, and soft tissue pain in various areas of the body.
In my belief system, I see everything and everyone interconnected through energy. Our bodies possess energy pathways called chakras and meridian points. When these pathways are open and energy flows freely, we experience good health. However, if the energy becomes blocked or sluggish at these points, it can lead to illness. During my time in school, I was introduced to the concept of energy healing, which resonated deeply with me. As a result, I embraced the opportunity to train in Reiki and eventually became a Reiki Master.
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique that promotes symptom management and overall well-being. By harnessing the life force energy, a Reiki Practitioner can stimulate the body's innate healing abilities while the recipient lies in a relaxed and comfortable state. The benefits of Reiki are numerous and include pain relief, anxiety reduction, fatigue alleviation, treatment of depression, mood enhancement, muscle relaxation, detoxification, improved immune response, promotion of sleep, and restoration of energy balance, among others.
In summary, my journey as a healer has led me to explore various avenues of assistance. Whether through massage therapy or Reiki, my ultimate goal is to contribute to the well-being and healing of individuals, offering relief from pain and promoting overall health and balance.
